On the Montagne du Fort

Poisson Blanc Regional Park’s hiking trails are located on Montagne du Fort, in the Rapide-du-Fort sector. Drop by Le Bastion Entrance Office to get information on the trail conditions and to get a map.

  • Entry prohibited after nightfall
  • Trails closed from mid-October to mid-November for the hunting season

Sentier Rapide-du-Fort

The Rapide-du-Fort trail runs along Lac des Sables and then climbs up to the park’s panoramic lookout which offers a splendid view on the islands and mountains, and for shrewd observers, the village bridge and the Barrage des Cèdres (Cèdres Dam).

Duration: 1.5 hours or 3.2 km

Level: beginner

Sentier des Merisiers

The Merisiers trail forms a shortcut to the Park’s panoramic lookout. Follow the Merisiers to reach the Katimavik trail or to form a loop with the Rapide-du-Fort trail. 

Duration: 45 min or 1 km

Level: intermediate

Sentier Katimavik

The Katimavik trail leads to the third lookout, or connects with the Sommet trail which brings you to the second lookout.  This magnificent trail was opened by Katimavik program volunteers from the organization with the same name.

Duration: 1.5 hours or 25 km

Level: intermediate

Le sentier du Sommet

The Sommet trail can be reached from the Katimavik trail and brings you to the park’s second lookout. The path is steep, but the view is worth the detour!

Duration: 1 hour or 1,3 km

Level: Difficult
