Sustainable Development Plan

In 2023, the Poisson Blanc team enlisted the sustainable development guidance of ADDERE Service-conseil. The goal was simple: establish the game plan for the coming years with respect to social, environmental and economic impacts.

One thing’s for sure, sustainable development has always been one of the Park’s core foundations, but it’s always possible to do better. Have a look at the 2025-2027 Plan to find out how we’re going to accomplish this together.

PLAN DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE 2025-2027

Nature doesn’t need to adapt to our way of thinking. It’s up to us to change our way of thinking to adapt to nature.

Poisson Blanc Conservation Fund

In 2025, the Park created the Poisson Blanc Conservation Fund. The idea is simple: give ourselves the means that align with our ambitions and implement projects with a high environmental impact in the Park area. With this fund, we’re thinking big. Whether it’s developing a system for monitoring the ecological state of Poisson Blanc, or carrying out rehabilitation projects on Poisson Blanc reservoir islands that suffered severe damage before the creation of the Park in 2008, well, with this fund these projects are now actually possible.

Visitors who make reservations at Poisson Blanc contribute to this fund at a rate of 1% of the value of their camping reservation. The Park itself will match the contribution of the campers, and commits to using the total fund contributions as a lever for acquiring other amounts from public and private partners. We’re already looking forward to telling you about the projects that will be carried out, like the one we’re currently working on
with Carleton University.
