Cancellation Policy

Lodging Cancellation

It is possible to cancel your lodging reservation and obtain a partial refund 14 days before the scheduled date of your stay. The cancellation fee, which represents 20% of the total amount of your lodging, will be retained and the balance will be refunded to the credit card used during reservation. Under 14 days, the lodging can be canceled without a refund.

*Please note that you will not be charged any additional cancellation fees for the watercraft associated with the lodging you wish to cancel, even if your watercraft were charged on a separate invoice. However, in such a case, the lodging reservation and watercraft rental must have been made under the same name.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is not possible to obtain a partial refund for a stay that is less than 14 days away, regardless of the weather forecast. The Poisson Blanc Regional Park is a vast territory. Sometimes it rains at site 60 and is sunny at site 13. We can console ourselves with the fact that it always passes. After all, that’s what outdoor adventure is all about.

Bad weather doesn’t prevent you from enjoying your stay, it just requires a little more planning from the campers. As the saying goes: there’s no such thing as bad weather, only poorly dressed campers. Rest assured, in the event of a storm, we have a procedure in place. This will be explained to you when you check in, to ensure your safety in such conditions.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to cancel a reservation and get a partial refund within the 14-day period . However, if you feel comfortable going out on your own, we do offer solo kayaks to rent, the best choice in this type of situation. Safe and stable, this watercraft will get you to your destination. We also offer a range of basic equipment to rent, should your friend be responsible for bringing along the stove, for example.

It is not possible to cancel a stay of less than 14 days if an open fire ban issued by SOPFEU is in effect for our region during your stay.

Here are a few tips for planning a fire-free stay:

  • Opt for cold meals that require no cooking;
  • Bring a burner if you need to cook food. The Park offers cooking stoves and 5 lb. propane tanks to rent;
  • Bring camping lamps for evening lights;
  • Check the weather forecast before you arrive, and make sure you wear clothing that’s appropriate for the weather you’ll be experiencing during your stay.

Unfortunately, less than 14 days before arrival, it is not possible to cancel a stay and receive a partial refund if you decide that the campsite site is too far from your point of departure. It is your responsibility to check the location of your site before booking. To avoid this kind of situation, consult the interactive map of the Park before making your reservation. This tool shows you the number of km to your site and the approximate duration of the non-motorized watercraft trip from the welcome pavilion.

It is not possible to obtain a “Poisson Blanc credit” for cancellations. However, if you wish to postpone your stay to another time during the same season and you are over the 14-day deadline, please email us at [email protected] to find out about your options.

We cannot refund your first night if you arrive too late at reception to leave for your campsite on the same day. In this case, we will offer you alternative accommodation for the first night near reception. If you have rented watercraft, one day’s rental can be refunded if the location of the alternative site does not require navigation.

To avoid this situation, we recommend arriving at the reception area early in the day. You can pick up your rental watercrafts at 9 a.m. Please note, however, that you will not have access to your campsite until 3 p.m. In the meantime, you can enjoy the many public rest areas on the islands until your campsite is ready for you. To plan your trips on the water, check the schedule of last departures for non-motorized watercraft in your pre-arrival email. This schedule indicates the latest time you are allowed to leave by watercraft to reach your campsite, based on its location and the seasonal daylight.
