Cancellation Policies

Lodging Cancellation

It is possible to cancel your lodging reservation and obtain a partial refund 14 days before the scheduled date of your stay. The cancellation fee, which represents 20% of the total amount of your lodging, will be retained and the balance will be refunded to the credit card used during reservation. Under 14 days, the lodging can be canceled without a refund.

*Please note that you will not be charged any additional cancellation fees for the watercraft associated with the lodging you wish to cancel, even if your watercraft were charged on a separate invoice. However, in such a case, the lodging reservation and watercraft rental must have been made by the same person.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is not possible to obtain a refund for a stay that is less than 14 days away, regardless of the weather forecast. The Poisson Blanc Regional Park is a vast territory. Sometimes it rains at site 60 and is sunny at site 13. We can console ourselves with the fact that it always passes. After all, that’s what adventure is all about.

Bad weather doesn’t prevent you from enjoying your stay, it just requires a little more planning from the campers. As the saying goes: there’s no such thing as bad weather, only poorly dressed campers. Rest assured, in the event of a storm, we have a procedure in place. This will be explained to you when you check in, to ensure your safety.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to cancel a reservation and get a refund. However, if you feel comfortable going out on your own, we do offer solo kayaks to rent, the best choice in this type of situation. Safe and stable, this watercraft will get you to your destination. We also offer a range of basic equipment to rent, should your friend be responsible for bringing along the stove, for example.

No, it is not possible to cancel a stay if there is a fire ban in effect for our region.

Here are a few tips for planning a fire-free stay:

  • Opt for cold meals that require no cooking;
  • Bring a burner if you need to cook food. The Park offers cooking stoves and 5 lb. propane tanks to rent.
  • Bring camping lamps for evening lights;
  • Check the weather forecast before you arrive, and make sure you wear clothing that’s appropriate for the weather you’ll be experiencing during your stay.

Unfortunately not. It is your responsibility to check the location of your site before booking. To avoid this kind of situation, consult the interactive map of the Park before making your reservation. This tool shows you the number of km to your site and the approximate duration of the non-motorized boat trip from the welcome pavilion.

It is not possible to obtain a “Poisson Blanc credit” for cancellations made less than 14 days before the date of your stay. Email us at [email protected] to find out about your options.

If you arrive at the welcome pavilion later than the time allowed for watercraft departures, we will offer you free alternative camping accommodations close by. However, it will not be possible to obtain a refund for the first night on your campsite. If you have rented boats, you may be refunded for the first day, if the temporary site does not require boating.

To avoid this, we advise you to arrive at the welcome pavilion early in the day. You can take possession of your rental boats starting at 9am. Please note that you will not have access to your campsite until 3pm. However, you can still take advantage of the many public rest areas on the islands until your campsite is available. If you’re on a tight schedule, you’ll find a schedule of the last non-motorized watercraft departure times in your pre-arrival e-mail. This schedule shows you the maximum time at which you’re allowed to leave for your campsite, based on location and seasonal daylight.

How to Cancel a Reservation?

To cancel a reservation quickly, write us an email within the right delays and indicate the name on the reservation and the invoice number (ex: 00054324). If your invoice contains multiple reservations, it is important to specify which one you wish to cancel. By phone, leave a detailed message with all the same information.

*Don’t forget your watercrafts. They are generally on another, separate invoice.

Watercraft Cancellation

It is possible to cancel your watercraft and obtain a refund up until the day your reservation begins. The cancellation fee, which represents 10% of the amount of the watercraft, is retained and the balance is refunded on your credit card.

*We recommend you rent your watercraft when you are one week away from your stay. In terms of our inventory, only the 4 benches canoes are available in smaller quantities.

Equipment Cancellation

It is possible to cancel an equipment reservation and obtain a full refund up until the day your reservation begins, free of charge.
