Every action counts

At Parc régional du Poisson Blanc, we do everything we can to reduce our environmental footprint, and waste management is a key part of that effort. To make it work, we need your collaboration. Sorting waste can sometimes seem complicated, but don’t worry we’re here to help. When you book a stay, you’ll receive everything you need to properly sort your waste on-site, along with guidance toward the right tools based on our region’s sorting guidelines.

Receive a sorting kit upon arrival

he starter kit provided to campers includes, among other things, sorting bags and essentials for the stay: a compost bag, a garbage bag, a recycling bag, a bag for cans, a waterproof map, and fire starters. For cans, you can also use one of the bags that previously contained your campfire wood at your campsite — a simple way to reduce the use of sorting bags and therefore waste. In addition, we collect any unused sorting bags and empty firewood bags upon your return. The same applies to the waterproof map and fire starters: whenever possible, they are given a second life.

*Good to know: there is also a bin near the welcome pavilion where you can dispose of empty propane tanks for recycling.

Sorting tools adapted to our regional guidelines

Waste sorting rules can vary from one region to another. Here at Parc régional du Poisson Blanc, we follow guidelines that may differ from those in Montreal or Ontario. To help you navigate this easily, you can download the Ça va où? app from Recyc-Québec or use the sorting tool developed by the park team to make things easier.
