1. The New Welcome Pavilion Is Now Open: Café, Boutique and Washroom Facilities

The Poisson Blanc experience has officially reached the next level. Whether you’re heading out by canoe to the islands or stopping in before the drive home, you can now enjoy a great latte or a cold drink at the Park’s boutique café. You’ll also find a selection of Poisson Blanc merch so you can bring a little piece of the Park home with you.

And that’s not all: a new washroom facility with three showers and three toilets is now available to campers at all times.

DISCOVER THE NEW WASHROOM FACILITIES

A huge thank you to the partners who funded the new welcome pavilion project at Poisson Blanc Regional Park. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to welcome you into such a beautiful space.

2. Eight New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

We now have eight Level 2 (6.6 kW) SWITCH charging stations in the P2 parking lot at the welcome pavilion. The rate is $0.30/kWh, and don’t worry, there are no additional fees once your charging session is complete, as we understand that being on an island means you’re a bit far away to come back and free up the charger right away.

3. The Poisson Blanc Regional Park is a recipient of the bourse SAIL – Agir pour la nature, in collaboration with Earth Day Canada

Thanks to this grant, the Poisson Blanc Regional Park team will carry out an environmental project in 2026 aimed at stabilizing and revegetating eroded shorelines of the Poisson Blanc Reservoir. These works will help slow down erosion caused by water level fluctuations, motorized boating, and foot traffic.

Here are a few images from the field visit held on May 19, alongside Watersheds Canada and the Carleton University research team.

5. The Poisson Blanc Regional Park has achieved Level 4 in the GreenStep Sustainable Tourism Program

This winter, the Poisson Blanc team worked with experts from GreenStep, a sustainable tourism organization, to assess its environmental, social, and management practices.

Following an independent evaluation process, Poisson Blanc Regional Park has reached Level 4 of the GreenStep Sustainable Tourism Program. On behalf of the entire Park team, thank you for visiting us and for supporting our initiatives. We wouldn’t be here without you. The shared love we have for Poisson Blanc pushes us to do better, and that is truly motivating.

A big thank you to Tourisme Laurentides for funding the certification process and for its commitment to supporting its members in their sustainable development journey.
